About

I place my photographic work between the performative and documentary. I search and examine the location of bodies in space, their presence and absence and the performative elements of everyday life. My work tells of points of contact - between people, between people and places and people and time. I think working analogue brings me closer to the photographic medium, to a process-like draft, which is the starting point and often also the end point of my work.
Anna Jochum studied artistic photography at the Schule Friedl Kubelka in Vienna and graphic design and photography at the University of Art and Design Linz and UWE Bristol, as well as Theatre-, Film- and Media-Studies at the University of Vienna.

Meine fotografische Arbeit platziere ich an der Grenze von Performativem und Dokumentarischem. Ich suche und untersuche die Verortung von Körpern im Raum, deren An- und Abwesenheit und die performativen Elemente des Alltags. Meine Arbeit erzählt von Berührungspunkten - zwischenmenschlichen, zwischen Mensch und Ort und Mensch und Zeit. Ich denke, das analoge Arbeiten bringt mich näher an das Medium, an einen prozesshaften Entwurf, der Ausgangs- und häufig auch Endpunkt meiner Arbeit ist.
Anna Jochum studierte künstlerische Photographie an der Schule Friedl Kubelka in Wien, Grafikdesign und Fotografie an der Kunstuniversität Linz und der UWE Bristol sowie Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft an der Universität Wien.
